AMD Renoir Ryzen 3 4300U Is Spotted On AOTS Benchmarks With Confirmed Cores

Budget laptop segment will be once again saturated with higher performance specs for good. Last year’s AMD Picasso 12nm mobile APUs have made a little splash on Intel’s offerings with up to 4 cores and 8 threads only. This time around AMD is rolling it’s sleeves to take Intel down with Renoir 7nm APU series with up to 8 cores and 16 threads. The flagship of Renoir chips is octa core Ryzen 7 4800H with double threads for gaming notebooks which carries a monster specs under the copper piped heat sink. Second hotly anticipated and announced APU is low-powered Ryzen 7 4700U with similar specs of elder sibling that’s oriented for Ultrabook market. Those two chips have packed a loaded punch in graphics department too. Still Vega 8 iGPU is attached to both of them. But what about the lower category laptops with fewer cores and GPU CUs? Don’t worry about it, this latest leaked information about quad core Renoir APUs will make you happy till the official launch day.

Exciting news came around one and half hour ago at a time of writing from twitter user Komachi_Ensaka who recently spotted Ryzen 3 4300U Renoir chip rocking the benchmarks of AOTS ( Ashes Of The Singularity) heavy graphics game. Obviously, Renoir Ryzen 3 4300U follows it’s predecessor Picasso Ryzen 3 3300U by taking 4 cores and 4 threads. One thing is assured about Ryzen 3 4300U being a Renoir 7nm chip if you notice AMD has upgraded Ryzen 3300U to 12nm and for strange reasons Ryzen 3 3200U was left as a Raven Ridge 2 14nm APU. The game benchmark ran on 1080p resolution and CPU side of Ryzen 3 4300U unexpectedly prevailed Ryzen 3 1300X 14nm desktop chip performanceby little margin. However, Radeon RX Vega 6 integrated graphics of Ryzen 3 4300U has done identical to Gen 11 Iris Plus Graphics. Nevertheless, take this benchmark score with a grain of salt since final clock speeds and driver optimization are not matured yet for Renoir APUs. Best thing about Renoir APUs is actually 4 GB VRAM capacity that could hit 4266 MHz frequency using LPDDR4 memory.
