AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 3700 Has 8 Cores, 16 threads and 4.3GHz Boost Clock

A mobile processor of AMD which is called Ryzen 7 Pro 3700U could be a hint for upcoming Ryzen 7 Pro 3700 that is manufactured for desktop. In a recent tweet from Tum Apisak, there is a link pointing to imgur.com. An image below shows specifications of likely upcoming Ryzen 7 pro 3700. Unlike mobile 3700U this processor has 8 physical cores accompanied with 16 threads. SMT might exist inside since a number of threads exceeds physical cores’ number. The CPU’s TDP remains unanswered. Moreover, its manufacturing process is also left with the question: “how many nm?”

We surely know that desktop processors are the main priority of AMD since there is huge number of consumers who like to change specs of their PCs very often. Especially gamers are always eager to buy the latest hardware. This is not surprising when 3700U is not as powerful as 3700 that dominates in frequency clock for now but later on its TDP and manufacturing process will add additional strength to impress AMD fans. However, 3700U has integrated Radeon™ Vega 10 Graphics with 10 cores. For laptop and tablet users Ryzen 7 Pro 3700U can be a decent processor for business and study oriented projects but for gaming, it might bring slow performance.

AMD Ryzen PRO Might Beat Ordinary Ryzen

There is no logic for AMD to manufacture Ryzen Pro CPUs that will be much faster and more reliable than Ryzen processors because people will tend to buy Pro versions unless their prices are higher. We think AMD is making a self-cannibalization when Ryzen 3000 processors sales are hitting records. We should not forget that Pro means for professionals: IT industry will embrace upcoming processors by replacing their existing Intel and AMD CPUs.
