Aviva (AV.L) Shares Make a Strong Comeback After Sharp Decline Over the Year

Aviva finally started to recover from the severe decline that happened at the beginning of 2020. In a month, it has decreased from 410.90GBP to 211GBP. Since then, the highest price was only at 338.20GBP. In 2021, the company did a great job, since it has developed by 61GBP. On the 21st of July, it opens at 381.20GBP and closed at 387.70GBP exceeding the previous close by 7GBP. The average volume is greater than the previous close by 238k GBP. the EPS is 69.80. Aviva, which buys leasehold contracts from housebuilders, has agreed to remove “doubling provisions” and compensate people who have been impacted. It will also put a stop to inflation-adjusted ground rentals, bringing them back to their original level.

Andrea Coscelli, CMA Chief Executive, said it’s encouraging that Aviva has responded constructively to the inquiry, allowing these concerns to be resolved for leaseholders. He went on to say that additional home developers and investors are now expected to follow Aviva and Persimmon’s lead. If they don’t, they may expect to be sued.
