Exelon Completes Its Separation From Constellation Energy

Exelon announces its separation, which was completed with Constellation Energy. The spin-off will allow Exelon to focus on its regulated utility business, while Constellation Energy focuses on growth opportunities in the competitive markets.

Exelon’s mission is to create, deliver and sustain value for its customers and communities by leading the nation in safe and reliable energy generation, delivery and storage. Headquartered in Chicago, Exelon employs approximately 31,000 people who serve the company’s customers through all of its businesses.

Exelon Corporation is one of the largest competitive U.S. power companies, with annual revenues of approximately $34 billion and nearly 34,000 megawatts of owned capacity comprising one of the nation’s cleanest and lowest-cost power generation fleets. The Exelon utilities are committed to customer service and satisfaction.

This is reflected in all aspects of the company’s activities, including its regulatory practices. The company’s open access transmission policy allows third parties to bring their power generation facilities directly to the company’s transmission system, resulting in inefficient use of the grid and reduced costs for both customers and third-party generators.
