Two unreleased titans were at the Geekbench battle against each other. Legendary industry insider and leaker TUM_APISAK put these numbers on his twitter account. First one is Intel Core i9-9900KS with superior single core speed running on 4 GHz just got a whopping 6129 points which is the figure bypassing his similarly priced Ryzen 7 3800X with only 5783 score. Big but here, current Intel processors are significantly slower in multicore speed compared to Ryzen 3000 series. In this Geekbench illustration we see clear multicore winner that is of course Ryzen 7 3800X getting highest score of 36748 against i9-9900KS with lowest of 34003. Eventhough both processors specifications are similar in 8 Core count and 16 Threads numbers, consumer category would be segmented for each of them. Obviously, high end PC owning gamers will choose i9-9900KS for its constant turbo boost frequency till 5 GHz and in contrast, Ryzen 7 3800X would be preferred mainly by content creators or architects working on CAD software. Apparently, our argument is that these results are not final but they are representing IPC (Instruction Per Cycle) differences between AMD’s 7nm Zen 2 design and aging Intel’s Core architecture based on 14nm++. Zen 2 based Matisse Ryzen CPUs have closed single threaded performance gap by incredible margin. In the end of Q3 2019, Intel might release i9-9900KS for consumers to fight toe to toe with Ryzen 7 3800X and 3900X.
