Petra Diamonds Limited (PDL.L) – A Great Opportunity To Pay Off Debts

Over the past five years, Petra Diamonds Limited’s performance looks like a hillside on the chart. The values have only been declining by 2021. The current price is fixed at 1.56 GBP with a 2.23% gain in comparison to the last day. The overall performance of Petra in 2021 was stable with a high beta score of 1.93. However, the company’s EPS is not that good resulting in -10.6.

One of the most expensive and exceptional Type IIb blue diamonds, a 39.3-carat blue gem, was sold by Petra Diamonds Ltd for more than $40 million. This gem was sold at a price of just over US$1 million per carat, making it the most expensive gem sold in Petra. The buyer was billionaire Steinmetz’ company.

This deal is beneficial for Petra Diamonds to pay off the debts gained after the coronavirus clash. To remind, COVID-19 had a severe impact on the company’s performance: the company faced huge debts and falling diamond prices.
