On June 1, the stock price reached $96.98 and reached its maximum. The strongest drop during this time was on July 19, the price fell to $69.51. Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, announced yesterday that Captain Kate McCue, the first American female captain, will lead Celebrity Beyond.

Captain Kate wanted to become a ship captain at the age of 12 when she first went on a cruise with her family. The new Captain has been a trailblazer ever since, breaking the gender barrier in 2015 when Lutoff-Perlo designated her the first—and only—American woman to command a big Celebrity Summit cruise ship. Due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Captain Kate also brought the celebrity fleet – and the industry – back when, on June 26, 2021, Celebrity Edge became the first cruise ship to depart with guests from a U.S. port in more than a year.
