The post office has signed its first agreement in its 360-year history with an external courier company, which will allow customers to receive parcels from its branches.

Courier giant DPD will now be able to leave parcels at the post office from next week, offering a “Click and Pick up” service in 250 branches by the end of the month and in 1,500 locations before the Christmas holidays. Post office bosses hope to capitalize on the growth of click-and-receive services during the Covid-19 pandemic since previously it was allowed to receive Royal Mail PLC parcels only from branches. They also believe that when employees return to the offices, click-and-pick services can remain strong, and people will go to post offices near their workplaces when they are no longer at home for delivery.
