Sorrento Therapeutics Loses Its CFO As For His Unexpected Death

Najjam Asghar, the Company’s Chief Financial Officer, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2022. The Company gives its deep condolences to the family and friends of Najjam. His untimely passing leaves a void that will be difficult to fill. Sorrento’s CEO is grateful to Naijam for the great and outstanding work for the company and the community contribution in San Diego. In June 2019, Mr. Asghar joined Sorrento as its Chief Financial Officer. He previously served as the Vice President, Accounting and Finance at NuVasive, Inc., where he led the company’s finance, accounting, and tax functions. He worked with S&P 100 and 500 customers in practice in the fields of audit and assurance. He graduated from Punjab University in Pakistan with an Accounting degree.

Sorrento Therapeutics

The company expects no changes in business operations due to the passing of its CFO. Sorrento Therapeutics, Inc. is focused on developing treatments for cancer and other inflammatory and viral diseases. It has two divisions, namely, Scilex and Sorrento Therapeutics. The latter is focused on the discovery and development of cancer drugs.
