Verizon Communications Reports Q4 Results With Outstanding Results

Verizon Communications added more than expected wireless subscribers in the fourth quarter. It also forecast a strong year ahead due to the increased adoption of 5G services. Despite delays in its 5G spectrum deployment, Verizon was able to exceed its goal for high-speed wireless networks. During the fourth quarter, the company added over 500,000 subscribers.

More than three in four of the phone users in the US have a 5G-capable device. Hans Vestberg, CEO of Verizon, said that the company’s performance was a “catalyst” for the company. He noted that the company’s future is bright as it moves forward with its 5G strategy and continues to deliver on its financial and operating goals.

For the fourth quarter of 2021, Verizon Communications reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.11, which was slightly higher compared to the same period in the previous year. The company’s fourth-quarter loss came from special items that totaled about $1.2 billion. The majority of these were related to the early extinguishment of debt and various other charges. The company’s revenue was also higher due to the acquisition of TracFone. This deal was completed in November.
